Can I walk the Marathon?
All events of the Santa Clarita Marathon are walker friendly. Participants should be able to maintain at least a 20 minute per mile pace.
Is the Marathon course certified?
Yes – The Marathon and Half Marathon courses are certified by USATF. The Santa Clarita Marathon is a Boston Qualifier.

Can someone else pick-up my bib and chip for me?
Yes, they will need to be prepared to have the following information: your registered name, your date of birth, your age on race day, a copy of your identification card and a copy of your race registration.
For Full and Half Marathon runners, if your plans have changed since you registered and you can not pick up your packet on Friday or Saturday, you can add the Race Day Packet Pickup Service by going to myevents.active.com to add the $25 additional purchase.
I need to update my registration. How do I do that?
To update your registration, go to myevents.active.com.
Uncheck “Show me in results when ACTIVE.com users search to see who registered for this event” on your registration page. Nobody, including yourself, can view the registration if this box is checked.

Can I pick up my bib and chip on race day for the Marathon or Half?
For an additional fee of $25, you can pick up your race packet on race day morning. All runners need to be pre-registered. There is NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION!
Do you offer refunds?
No, there is no refunds or deferrals.
What is a Paseo?
Paseos are pathway systems that feature lighted, paved walkways, bridges and tunnels that connect the community. The ever-expanding paseo system links residential villages to schools, parks, shopping areas and other neighborhoods by use of these traffic-free paths.
Where should I park?
Plenty of free parking is available at the Westfield Valencia Town Center. Enter off of Valencia Blvd.
What beverage will be on the course?
There will be water at about every other mile and PowerAde starting at mile three.
Will there be GU on the course for the Full Marathon?
Yes – near miles 14 and 18.
Will 5K runners get a medal?
Yes! All finishers for all races will receive a medal.
What airport should I fly into?
Los Angels International Airport (40 miles from Santa Clarita)
Burbank – Bob Hope Airport (20 miles from Santa Clarita)

Will there be clothing/drop bag pick-up at the finish?
Bags will be available for you to drop off your sweats prior to the start of the event, and it will be available to you at the finish. Please do not place items of value in the sweat bag, as we are not responsible for anything lost or broken. Clothing found in unclaimed sweat bags will be donated to charity.
Can I push my child in a jog stroller?
No – For the safety and comfort of others jogging or baby strollers are not allowed on the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K or 5K races. Jogging or baby strollers are permitted on the Mayor’s Walk only.
Are headphones allowed on the course?
The use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged at this race.
Are dogs, bikes, strollers or skateboards allowed on the course?
No – For the safety and comfort of others, dogs, skateboards, roller blades, bikes or other such things are not allowed on the course. Baby strollers are allowed on the Mayor’s Walk only.
Can I arrive late to the start?
No! The Santa Clarita Marathon races start on time and chip pads are pulled minutes after the start of the race.

Plaques will be given to the top 3 male and female runners in each age group.
Acrylic Trophies will be presented to top 3 Male & Female for the Marathon, Half, 5K and 10K.
The 1st place Santa Clarita (including the communities of: Canyon Country, Newhall, Saugus and Valencia) male and female Marathon and Half Marathon finishers will also receive an award.
Overall first place winners will not be pulled from their age groups.
