Ambassador Michelle is a proponent of foam rolling. She recognizes her foam roller as one of the many ‘must-haves’ for runners.
Here’s what she has to say…
“Using a foam roller as a runner is a great tool to use on a daily basis. It can provide similar benefits as getting a deep-tissue massage but without the heavy cost involved. Foam rolling has been a part of my everyday life since I’ve began running.
When I began, in my early stages, I suffered a pulled hamstring. Right after that I than starting having problems with my knees (runner’s knee). After doing a lot of research and talking to friends and family, I found that foam rolling could help me in my problem areas and my flexibility. When used often and correctly, the foam roller can help avoid many sports-related injuries, which it did in my case. What I also like about foam rolling is that you have control over how much pressure you apply to your tissues that you’re working on and get those problem areas addressed. It doesn’t matter your age, if you’re in your 20’s or 50’s, anyone that puts a lot of pressure on their joints needs to properly take care of your body. You can do this by either stretching or, in my case, using a foam roller.
Give it a try and you won’t turn back.”
